This uses patented technology to eliminate benign vascular and pigmented lesions non-invasively from the skin.

Is Vein Treatment For You?

The principle procedure is that a laser penetrates the skin to raise the temperature of the blood vessel and safely coagulate it. Over time the vessel in the face fades and slowly disappears.

It is highly recommended that large to mid-size veins be treated with injection, and small to mid-size veins be treated by lasers.

An alternative would be Sclerotherapy, which is an injection of a sclerosing solution.

What to Expect

The number of treatments needed depends on what is being treated, and the size of the area requiring treatment.

Any one lesion may require several treatments, so there might be a need for multiple treatments. If repeat treatments are needed they are usually done every 6 weeks or so.

Patients typically report satisfaction with their results, but this can vary from patient to patient. It is impossible to predict what level of improvement any one patient will have. This is a procedure that can take up to several months to see the final result. It is important that patients have a realistic expectation for improvement and not an expectation for perfection.

Treated areas may appear red and/or bruised.

Vein removal pain is generally mild and transient.

Swelling, blistering and crusting can occur. Scarring is unusual.

Some patients may experience a lightening or darkening of the skin in affected areas. This is usually temporary (may take several months to clear) but can also be a permanent side effect.

Permanent hair loss in the treated area may occur.

In majority of cases no recovery time needed. The Laser emits a narrow spectrum of light in short pulses during vein treatment. This may feel like rubber band hitting against your skin. It usually lasts a few minutes, but can last longer. We may recommend a topical gel for you to apply as needed for discomfort.

Prior to treatment wash the area that varicose or spider veins are to be removed from well.

It is important to avoid taking aspirin for a week prior to the treatment.

After the procedure it is important to care for the treated area very gently.

The most significant aspect to remember for recovery is that you need to avoid any sun exposure for about 2 months after treatment.
